Petro SA says it will suspend operations at its Mossel Bay facilities for 37 days for maintenance.
Spokesperson, Thabo Mabaso says the shutdown, which will start on September 22,
will affect the gas-to-liquids refinery, as well as the offshore FA Platform.
He says several products, including LP Gas, propane and liquid oxygen, will not be available during this time.
However, Mabaso says PetroSA has made contingency plans for the supply of products such as diesel and petrol in the southern Cape.
The shutdown is expected to involve a combined workforce of 4 000 people, including temporary workers from the Mossel Bay community.
