Port Elizabeth police have arrested 3 suspects for the illegal possession of perlemoen worth more than a million rand in two separate incidents.
Spokesperson, Captain Johan Rheeder says a 48-year old man was arrested at his home in New Brighton early last night, after police found 23 bags of perlemoen in two freezers.
He says in the second incident, 81 bags of frozen perlemoen were found in 7 freezers - also at a house in New Brighton in the early hours of the morning.
Rheeder says a 27-year old man and a 24-year old woman were arrested. Police also confiscated an unlicensed firearm and 6 rounds of ammunition.
All three suspects will appear in court on Wednesday.
