Applications submitted for private health care facilities in Nelson Mandela Bay

 Nineteen applications have been submitted for the operation of private health care facilities in Nelson Mandela Bay - 16 in Port Elizabeth and 3 in Uitenhage.

These are part of 69 applications from across the provinces published by Health MEC Sicelo Gqobana in terms of the Policy for the Licensing of Private Health Care Facilities.

Gqobana signed the policy in April this year, spelling out the process in terms of which licenses could be applied for.

The applications have been published for public comment, that must be submitted within the next 30 days.
