George police have opened an inquest docket after a human head was discovered on a pavement in Rosemoor.
Police spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie, said pedestrians made the gruesome discovery on Saturday.
He said after police were alerted, they conducted a search of the area and came across the headless body of a man 100m’s further in a field near the Rosemoor old age home.
He said both the head and the body were in an advanced stage of decomposition.
Pojie said the unknown man was clad in black denim pants with a blue hoodie and Puma shoes.
He said anyone with information should contact the Conville police station.
