A pedestrian was killed during a hit and run in the early hours of Monday morning in East London.
A spokesperson for Provincial Traffic Unathi Binqose says the accident happened on the R72 just outside of the city.
The man's body was discovered by a passerby who alerted authorities.
Binqose says the victim's identity is unknown at this stage but he is estimated to be in his sixties.
On Saturday two pedestrians were killed in Mthatha and Mooiplaas respectively.
Binqose says from Friday to Monday morning seven pedestrians were killed on Eastern Cape roads.
