Alterations on the Voëlklip road near Herolds Bay, where several people have plunged to their deaths down a notorious cliff will start this week.
Additional measures to secure the road will be implemented.
The George Municipality has set up a task team to investigate ideas to safeguard the controversial road.
Permission had to be obtained from the Provincial government as the road is not a municipal road.
The latest incident which sent shockwaves through the town was that of the two 75-year-old women who drove over the cliff on the 21st of February.
Police confirmed that the women were friends from Gauteng and stayed at a Guesthouse before the incident.
Two firearms were also found in the wreckage.
The remains of the women will only be identified, possibly on Tuesday, as a relative was found in Gauteng to help with the identification process.
Their names have not yet been released to the public.
