Pedestrian killed on N2 in Port Elizabeth

A Pedestrian was killed on Thursday morning on the N2 in Port Elizabeth between the Cotsworld bridge and Standford road.

Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Alwin Labans says a woman, driving a white Renault, saw the man running across the highway.

She tried in vain to avoid him and he died on the scene.

He says the man is in his late teens or early twenties and his identity is unknown at this stage.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
