A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured when they were hit by a truck while trying to cross the N2 at George on Monday morning, paramedics said.
"The female, believed to be aged in her 30s, had sustained various fatal injuries and was unfortunately later declared dead at the scene," ER24 spokesman Andre Visser said in a statement.
The man, 37, had a suspected broken hip and deep cuts to both legs.
He was stabilised at the scene then transported to George Provincial Hospital. (Sapa)
