Police in Gqeberha are investigating a hit and run after a pedestrian was killed by an unknown motorist on Wednesday.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says 40-year-old Calvyn Simpson was hit by a vehicle on Cape Road between 4th and 5th Avenue in Newton Park.
She says they are now searching for any information on the driver who failed to stop at the scene.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says the accident happened at about 19.40 pm and Simpson was rushed to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
She says Simpson's wife rushed to the hospital where she heard the news of his passing.
