East London police have opened a case of culpable homicide, after a 24 year old man was hit by a vehicle whilst walking on the North East Expressway.
Spokesperson, Captain Stephen Marais says the body of the victim was found laying on the side of the road on Wednesday night.
He says it is alleged that the deceased and his friends were walking back from Eastern Beach and hiking for a lift.
Marais says the deceased allegedly stepped into the road to try and stop a vehicle, when he was hit.
