Police in Peddie in the Eastern Cape are investigating the murder of a woman who was found hacked to death earlier this week.
Provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, says they have also opened an inquest docket after the body of her husband was found hanging at their home on Monday morning.
He said police were summoned to the scene at eMaxhegweni Location where a passerby had stumbled across the body of 31-year-old Nosikhumbzo Ntlontlo in the bushes.
Kinana said she had sustained multiple injuries.
He said a short while later the body of her husband Vukani Mazana was found hanging at their home in Lujiko Location.
Kinana said while the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation, police have opened a murder docket as well as an inquest docket for further investigation.
