Three teenagers are expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court this week on a charge of aggravated robbery.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says on Saturday a 26-year-old woman was getting out of a vehicle in Aragon Avenue in Perridgevale when she was confronted by three unknown men who threatened her with a pair of scissors.
She says the victim's phone and a bottle of champagne was taken from her before the suspects fled on foot.
The complainant's friend chased after the suspects in his vehicle but they managed to disappear.
Janse van Rensburg says the incident was immediately shared on a Whatsapp group and within an hour the Korsten neighbourhood watch arrested the teenagers and handed them over to police.
She says detectives will now be profiling these teenagers to determine whether they are linked to other robbery cases.
