Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder, after a 51-year old woman was shot and killed in Booysens Park in the city's northern areas on Saturday evening.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that Susan Afrika was sitting with people on their front stoep when an unknown man approached them from the street.
She says the man suddenly produced a firearm and fired shots at them.
Afrika was fatally wounded in the back, while a 22-year old person was shot several times.
Naidu says two others escaped unharmed.
She says the motive for the attack is unknown.
Bethelsdorp police are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.
