A man was killed after a bakkie overturned on the R61 near eNgcobo late on Saturday night.
The Eastern Cape Department of Transport says there were three women and five men in the bakkie when the accident happened.
It says the deceased was a passenger.
Department spokesperson, Kuselwa Rantjie says it is alleged that a double-cab Ford Ranger was travelling from Cofimvaba when it overturned 5km from eNgcobo.
The injured were taken to the All Saints Hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the accident is still unclear and authorities are investigating.
