Port Elizabeth police are puzzled after the body of a 57-year old woman was found in her Walmer house.
WO Alwin Labans says Dora Gerber's grandchild reported to the police that she had'nt seen her grandmother for almost two weeks.
He says when police arrived at the house, they had to break down the door to gain access.
She was found lying on the floor with a stab wound to the head.
Labans says there was no sign of forceful entry into the house.
Police have opened a murder docket.
