 Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of murder after the body of a woman was found in a stream on Monday.

Police Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says a passer-by came across the body in a stream that divides Kleinskool and Kwadesi.

The woman, who was in her late twenties or early thirties, had sustained a bullet wound to her upper body.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have information on the murder to come forward.
