Port Elizabeth police have revealed the identities of a woman and her two teenage daughters who were murdered execution style in Govan Mbeki Township near KwaDwesi in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, identified the victims as 45-year-old Nomathemba Booi and her daughters,19-year-old Noluvuyo and 15-year-old Asemanie Booi.
They were each shot in the head.
Two other children in the room, a one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl, Linothando and three-year-old boy Someleze, were left unharmed by the assailants.
Beetge says Booi's 25-year-old son, Mkwuseli, who lives in an outbuilding, alerted neighbours to the shooting shortly after 2am who called police.
He says nothing was taken from the house and there had been no forced entry as the door was not locked. He said the family used a chair to secure the door at night.
Police have appealed to anyone with information on the mruders to contact the KwaDwesi police station.
