A 15-year-old Port Elizabeth youth has been killed when gunmen opened fire on three men in Gelvandale.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said that the teenager was with two men, aged 27 and 34, when the incident happened on Thursday afternoon.
She said they were driving to a shop when they stopped in Gail Road so that that driver could collect empty bottles from a house.
"As he was walking towards the vehicle he saw three males coming towards them. Shots were fired at the vehicle," Naidu said.
She said the intended victims fled and when the shooting stopped the teenager was found lying in the road.
"He sustained multiple gunshot wounds while the 34-year-old sustained wounds to both legs. None of the victims are affiliated to any gang," Colonel Naidu said.
A case of murder and attempted murder is being investigated by Gelvandale detectives.
