A Port Elizabeth teenager is behind bars after police raided a house in Bethelsdorp Extension 31 and seized a large quantity of drugs.
The raid was conducted on Friday by members of the Anti-Gang Unit who were acting on a tip-off.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said they seized thousands of Mandrax tablets, Tik, as well as dagga valued at over R623 000.
Two firearms, a 9mm pistol, and a shotgun were also confiscated.
“The shotgun was reported stolen in Ikamvelihle in August 2016, while the serial number of the 9mm pistol has been filed off,” Naidu said.
“A 19-year-old teenager was arrested and detained on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and dealing in drugs.”
He will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrates’ court on Monday.
