Police in Port Elizabeth arrested a teenager who allegedly robbed a cafe in Missionvale on Tuesday afternoon.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says four men entered the cafe in Aloes Valley in Missionvale, pretending to be customers.
She says two of the men had firearms and threatened the customers in the cafe.
One victim was forced to open the burglar gate so that they could get entry to the other side of the counter.
Colonel Naidu says they stole a thousand rand in cash, boxes of cigarettes and a cellphone.
She says two of the suspects were known to the complainant.
The Detective Trio Task team immediately followed up on information of the known suspects and arrested the 18-year-old at his house.
The teenager will be charged with armed robbery and will appear in the New Brighton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
Naidu says more arrests are expected.
