A 37-year-old Port Elizabeth man has been arrested after being found in possession of 37 suspected stolen cell phones.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says members were busy with crime prevention duties when they followed up on information which led them to a house in Haggard Street in Greenfields, in Bethelsdorp at about 9 pm on Sunday.
On arrival, seven men ran away in different directions but one of them, who was carrying a bag, was nabbed by police.
Captain Janse Van Rensburg says when they searched the bag the suspected stolen cell phones were found.
She says the investigation is ongoing and the suspect is expected to appear in the Gelvandale Magistrates Court this week.
