A Port Elizabeth woman accused of exporting more than 95 tons of shark and octopus worth millions of rands has made another appearance in the city's magistrates court.
Thirty-six year old Sharmilla Van Heerden of Summerstrand faces eight charges involving more than R7-million.
The state alleges that Van Heerden unlawfully exported several thousand kilograms of processed shark fillet and octopus to Australia without an export permit between 2011 and and last year.
It is also alleged that when shipping loads to Australia, Van Heerden did not declare it to the South African Revenue Service.
Van Heerden, who was accompanied by her husband Marius in court, run the company, Fisherman Fresh, in the harbour and is said to be well known in the fishing industry.
The case was postponed to the 12th of February for trial.
