Westering High School in Port Elizabeth has paid tribute to one of their former learners who died in hospital on Thursday.
The 19-year-old Megan Pretorius, who matriculated last year, died after being hit by a car that was apparently 'spinning' in a street in Newton Park on Saturday night.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Pretorius and a friend were standing opposite a nightclub in West Street when the driver of a white VW Golf who was allegedly spinning lost control of the car and hit the two women.
They were rushed to hospital, but Naidu says Pretorius succumbed to her injuries a few days later on Thursday.
Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
