Detectives from Gelvandale in Port Elizabeth are urgently seeking the community’s assistance in tracing the next of kin of a teenager whose body was found on Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said police were notified and found the young woman’s body in the bushes between Gelvandale and Algoa Park.
“The female, approximately 16-years-old was wearing a pair of black pants and a purple top. Her hair is braided. She sustained multiple stab wounds,” Naidu said.
She said a case of murder is under investigation but an additional charge of rape may be added pending the findings of a post mortem.
