Port Elizabeth police have started a search for a little baby who's mother claimed that the child had been abducted by three men on Sunday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, said that the 48-year-old woman claimed that men were driving in a black BMW and had given her and the child, Likiwe Maklein, a lift from Motherwell.
"The mother alleges that she and her baby got into a black BMW at Unit 7 after it stopped while she was looking for a taxi," he said.
"After a short distance she was sprayed with an unknown substance in her face. The vehicle stopped and she was forced out of the car. The three men then drove off with her child," he added.
Beetge said that the little girl had been wearing a pink beanie, pink top, navy blue track pants and was wrapped in a pink and blue blanket.
Any person with more information to assist police in finding the girl must contact the investigating officer, Captain Mthetheleni Ntshikose at 071 352 4475. Enquiries Captain Andre Beetge 082 302 5882
