A Port Elizabeth radio presenter at a local community station has been granted bail of R2 000, following his appearance in the city's magistrate's court on a charge of statutory rape.
The Herald reports that the man in his 40's did not plead at Monday's proceedings, and the matter was postponed to the 14th of October for further investigation.
The pastor was arrested at his Gelvandale home on Thursday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Captain Johan Rheeder said at the time the girl was 15 when the alleged relationship with the man started in 2013.
Rheeder said the young girl told the Family Violence-, Sexual Offences-, and Child Protection Unit that they had intercourse on a regular basis.
The pastor also allegedly sent her explicit images of his private parts on a number of occasions by phone.
Rheeder said police were in possession of these images.
