Over 100 residents are protesting again outside the Motherwell Police station all along Tyinira road.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says residents are burning tyres, rubble and barricaded the road on Friday afternoon.
Beetge says residents are apparently unhappy with housing issues in the area.
They have since arrested one resident which angered the community even more. The situation is described as tense.
He says they have threatened to make Motherwell ungovernable if they do not get the answers they are looking for.
