Members of the Anti-Gang Unit in Port Elizabeth have arrested two Tanzanian men and confiscated a large quantity of dagga at a house in Cotswold during an intelligence-driven operation.
Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says police raided rooms at the back of a house in Lewerkie Street on Saturday and seized 164 bags of dagga, 24 bales of compressed dagga and 242 rolls of the drug.
She says the total weight of the cannabis was 178,76 kg with an estimated street value of R500 000.
Naidu says the two rooms were rented by the suspects.
Police also seized three cell phones, documents, a digital scale, a vacuum sealer, two passports and bank cards.
The two suspects, aged 20 and 22, are being detained for dealing in dagga and will appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court on Monday.
