Port Elizabeth police have called on the community to assist them with their investigations into two unrelated house robberies reported on Monday and in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says in the first incident, it is alleged that a 57-year-old woman was busy hanging up washing at her home in Mangold Park on Monday afternoon when she was confronted by an unknown man.
She was forced into the house, and two other suspects entered.
The robbers fled with jewellery, cash, cellphones, laptops, TV’s, a Playstation and clothing.
The woman was not injured during the robbery.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says in the second incident at around 2 am on Tuesday, a 21-year-old woman and her husband were asleep in their house in Msundulu Street in Walmer, when the front door was kicked open and two unknown men entered.
She says they took four cellphones , two TV’s and a handbag containing cash.
It is alleged that one of the suspects was armed with a knife.
The robbers fled the scene on foot and no-one was injured during the incident.
No arrests have yet been made.
