Port Elizabeth police are still searching for the occupants of a car following a road rage incident in the Kragga Kamma and Luneville intersection over the weekend.
Rheeder says a case of attempted murder is being investigated, following the incident later Saturday afternoon.
He says 22-year-old Hendrik Janse van Rensburg has told him that he was assaulted by a man who emerged from a white Corsa after two vehicles stopped in the street.
A shot went off, hitting Janse van Rensburg in upper body.
He was assisted by other motorists and has been admitted to hospital in a satisfactory condition.
