PE police recovered more bodies of missing rugby players

Port Elizabeth police have recovered the bodies of three more rugby players who were swept out to sea at Bluewater Bay beach nearly a week ago.

This brings to four, the number of bodies found since the extensive search began for the five Motherwell Rugby Club members who were caught in a rip current and dragged out to sea on Ssunday.

A total of 21 people were caught in the rip-current, but lifesavers managed to save 15 people.

On Thursday police recovered the body of 21-year-old Anelisa Mbuzeli near the Coega port.

Police captain Andre' Beetge says the bodies were recovered in the vicinity between St Croix Island and Coega harbour. "The bodies were spotted floated in the water and spotted firstly by a patrol boat and the one body spotted from the air," he said.

Beetge said they are hopeful of finding the remaining body soon.
