Port Elizabeth are investigating a case of attempted murder and arson following an incident on Friday in Chris Hani, New Brighton .
Warrant officer Thembi Gwe says the complainant noticed that his shack was burning and evacuated his home.
Gwe says that upon leaving his home, he was shot in the chest by an unknown suspect.
Meanwhile,police are investigating a case of attempted murder and house breaking following another incident - also in New Brighton on Friday.
Gwe says the complainant was sleeping when he heard a noise, and when he went to investigate he was shot in the hand by an unknown suspect.
The suspect fled with airtime and chocolates from the complainant's spaza shop kept on the same premises.
No arrests have been made.
