Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of attempted business robbery, after five men entered a gaming outlet in the Moffat-on-Main Lifestyle Centre in Walmer on Saturday morning.
Spokesperson, Col Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that one of them pointed a firearm at the security guard at the entrance.
She says two suspects kept an eye on the security guard, while the other three went inside the gambling area and mingled around.
One suspect stood near the door of the manager’s office, and as the manager was about to open it from the inside, the suspect tried to enter, but the manager then closed the door in time.
Naidu says the men then left and disappeared in the parking area.
No one was injured and no shots were fired.
No arrests have yet been made.
