Port Elizabeth police have arrested five suspects they suspect were planning to rob a fast food outlet in Heugh Road, Walmer.
Police spokesperson, captain Stanley Jarvis, says the arrests were made on Thursday night following a tip-off.
He says police seized a fire-arm as well as a mini-bus which had been hijacked.
Earlier this week, a robbery gang who shot and killed a man during a hijacking in Zwide, later robbed to petrol stations in the Walmer area.
Jarvis says police will investigate any possible links between the two incidents.
