Port Elizabeth police have issued a warning to all communities not to buy stolen goods.
They've now embarked on a project titled - 'Reject and Report Stolen Goods.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says in recent weeks there has been a spike in property related crimes within Nelson Mandela Bay.
He says police are appealing to the public not to open false cases and to keep serial numbers of their purchased goods.
Beetge says police are in the process of rolling out the campaign and roadblocks will become more frequent.
"We would like our community to reject stolen goods, don't buy stolen goods and if you know of stolen goods somewhere, please report it to police so we can put a stop to it. This is a vicious cycle, the more people buy stolen goods the more robberies, house robberies, theft will take place. Our victims are bleeding and even dying in giving up goods to criminals." says Beetge.
