Gqeberha (PE) police arrest two suspected drug dealers

Two suspects were arrested in separate incidents in Gqeberha, formerly Port Elizabeth, on Saturday on charges of dealing in drugs and possession of suspected stolen property.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says members in Kwazakele executed a search warrant at a house in Veeplaas, where mandrax, cash, dagga, cocaine and tik, as well as a Canon camera were found.

The estimated street value of the drugs is R20 000.

The 35-year-old suspect is being detained and will appear in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Colonel Naidu says a 65-year-old man was arrested at a suspected drug dealer's house in Lorraine during a joint operation by Walmer police, the K9 Unit and the Lorraine Neighbourhood Watch.

She says police found tik, mandrax, loose dagga and a substantial amount of cash in a cupboard.

Two generators, a bicycle, a weedeater and tools were also confiscated.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court Monday
