Gang violence in Nelson Mandela Bay has claimed the life of a Booysen Park woman.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says a 47-year-old woman was killed inside her home on Monday morning.
He says the shooting is suspected to be linked to gang violence.
The woman, identified in news reports as Winifred Minaar, was reportedly due to testify in a gang-related case next month along with her two sons.
No arrests have yet been made.
This week, police appealed to the public for help in resolving at two gang murders and one attempted murder between Friday and Sunday.
Police also warned members of the public that they could face charges of defeating the ends of justice.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said they strongly suspect that members of the public had removed vital evidence from the scene of one of several shooting incidents in Port Elizabeth's Northern Areas over the weekend.
