Pay your traffic fines ONLY at the traffic department or you could land in sticky situations
Nelson Mandela Bay motorists are warned to avoid paying their traffic fines through third parties as it could land them in sticky situations if they are caught at roadblocks.
The Metro's Director of Traffic and Licensing, Warren Prins, said the municipality never appointed any company to collect revenue from traffic fines on its behalf and advise motorists that they will be held fully accountable for payments.
He says illegitimate transactions and discounts will not be recognised.
Metro Spokesperson Kupido Baron says representatives from these rogue companies are so brazen that they receive reports that they allegedly redirect residents from the Traffic Department parking lot to their premises.
"We understand that promises of discounts and other forms of amnesty are dangled before their noses. Please do not be fooled by these rogue operations" he said.
A discount of up to 30% will anyway be considered when you approach the Prosecutor at the Municipal Traffic Court in Sidwell.
Traffic fines can also be paid via the municipal website at the following link
