Four people have died in an accident on the M4 Highway in Port Elizabeth.
The Department of Transport says the accident took place in the early hours of this morning.
The vehicle they were travelling in caught fire after it veered off the highway and crashed down an embankment.
According to officials, the accident happened just before 5 am.
The Volkswagen Golf was travelling from North End towards Deal Party when the car collided with a barrier and left the road.
The car then rolled numerous times before coming to a standstill. The car then caught alight.
All four occupants, 2 males and 2 females occupants burnt to death.
A case of culpable homicide has been open at Mount Road Saps for further investigation.
