A Port Elizabeth man has been admitted to hospital after being shot in Kleinskool on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says the 35-year-old victim was talking to his brother outside a house when a taxi pulled up.
She says a man carrying a gun emerged from the taxi and chased after the man who ran into the house.
Several shots were fired and the unidentified victim was hit several times.
Janse Van Rensburg says no arrests have been made.
Meanwhile, police are expected to step up visibility at the Cambridge Cemetery in East London.
Spokesperson, Lieutenant Mluleki Mbi, says a case of a violation of a gravesite was reported on Saturday by family of a deceased who's remains were dug up and stolen.
Mbi said on Sunday two more families reported being attacked and robbed by men while visiting the graves of loved ones.
