Uitenhage police are investigating a case of murder following a shooting late on Sunday night.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, says the victim was shot several times while sitting in a car in Kamesh Road.
She says police are not certain whether the alleged shooter had acted alone.
Swart says the man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
No arrests have been made and police could not confirm whether the incident is gang related.
However, a reliable source told Algoa FM News that the victim was well-known in PE gang cirlcles.
Police are appealing to community members who may have information on the shooting to contact the Kamesh police.
