The ANC in the Eastern Cape has apologised to its members who reportedly collapsed from hunger while returning from the party's 103rd birthday celebrations in Cape Town last weekend.
ANC provincial spokesperson, Lubabalo Mabuyane, said in a statement that the incident was regrettable.
He says they will be waiting for a report from the Buffalo City regional leadership about what happened to the money that was allocated for catering for all ANC members travelling to the rally which was held at the Cape Town stadium.
Mabuyane says the fact that money was set aside is a clear sign that the ANC had made provision for all members.
