Investigators from the civil aviation authority will travel to the Eastern Cape on Thursday.
That's to begin the probe into Wednesday night's light aircraft crash in which 55-year-old Frans Griessel of Sherwood, Port Elizabeth, was seriously injured.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer, Gerda Swart, says the accident happened on a farm in the Elandsrivier area when Griessel's Acquilla light aircraft hit power lines and crashed onto a gravel road.
Earlier this month two Port Elizabeth brothers, Lumon and Barney van Eeden, were killed when their light plane crashed on a guest farm, Syfergat, also in the Uitenhage area.
