A young spearfisherman is recovering in hospital after accidentally being shot through the leg while spearfishing between Seaview and Beach View on Tuesday.

A 20-year-old local man was then treated on the scene by paramedics after an accidental discharge in which a spear went into his leg and protruded just above the right knee.
Friends of the family, who live nearby, brought a mobile generator and an angle grinder which was used to shorten the spear to prevent any unnecessary movement.
