Port Elizabeth police are searching for three assailants who shot and killed a 26-year-old man in Veeplaas on Sunday night.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, said that 26-year-old Akhona Josah, and his girlfriend were having dinner in their flat in Cambridge Street when the woman answered a knock on the door.
"Three unknown suspects entered the flat. One of them pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at Josah," he said.
Beetge said the woman fled and upon returning a short while later found her boyfriend with several gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Josah died on the scene.
Beetge said that the motive for the murder is still unknown and police are urging any person with information that could assist police with this investigation to contacts Detective Captain Frank van der Berg 082 394 5957
