A 23-year-old Port Elizabeth man has been killed in a mob murder in New Brighton.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre' Beetge, identified the victim as Sinethemba Gwatya.
He says Gwatya's charred body remains were found in Stofile Street on Monday afternoon.
A burnt toy gun and rocks were also found on the scene.
Tyres were placed over his body and set alight.
Beetge says its alleged the community members had accused him of robbing people in the community.
No arrests were made but a murder docket has been opened for investigation.
