A 33-year-old Port Elizabeth man has been arrested for allegedly being in possession of a large quantity of illegal perlemoen.
Police spokesperson, warrant officer Dumile Gwavu, says the man was arrested on Thursday night in Swartkops after alert members on patrol became suspicious about his heavily-loaded bakkie.
He says when police searched the vehicle they found 25 bags of perlemoen with an estimated street value of R250 000.
