Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 24-year-old man in the city's northern areas for house robbery and rape.
Police Spokesperson, Colonel Pricilla Naidu says it is alleged that two suspects kicked open a door at a house in Barcelona in Gelvandale in the early hours of Monday morning.
She says the four occupants were locked in a room while the suspects ransacked the house.
Naidu says a 25-year-old female was allegedly raped by one of the suspects before they fled the scene with cash, a TV, cellphones and other household items.
She says later in the day, one suspect was arrested in Reynecke Street, Gelvandale.
Some cash and two cellphones were found in his possession.
The other suspect is still at large.
