Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 40-year old man following the brutal rapes of five minor girls in Motherwell.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu says the man was arrested on Tuesday at a police station after he was brought in by angry community members from Kamvelihle.
Gwavu says it is alleged that the man lured the minor girls, aged between 5 and 8, while they were playing in a street and after which he raped them one by one.
He says after the incident, which allegedly took place in September the suspect let the girls go.
The incident was reported over the weekend after police received a complaint from a parent.
Gwavu says he will appear in the Motherwell magistrates court on Thursday.
