PE learner laid to rest after “fumigation” tragedy

Westering High Facebook

A Port Elizabeth family buried their second child on Saturday who died in a suspected fumigation tragedy which also claimed the life of his teenage sister.

A moving service was held at Westering High School for 17-year-old Matthew Ingram, who died several weeks after his parents also lost their daughter, Tammy.

Due to Covid19 regulations, only 100 invited guests were allowed entry to the PA Blackbeard Hall at the school from where the service was streamed on YouTube.

The Ingrams were rushed to hospital in August after one of the units in their complex in Kabega Park had been fumigated.

Tammy died while Matthew was left in a coma before he also passed about a week ago.

Police said once the investigation into their deaths has been completed the dockets would be sent to the Inquest Court for a decision.
